Copyright Report - On October 3, 2002, the Honourable Allan Rock,
Minister of Industry, tabled in Parliament a Report on provisions
and operation of the Copyright Act. The Report asks Parliament
to examine whether the private copy levy regime should be amended
to address the effects on stakeholders in a digital environment.
The Parliamentary Review will provide a forum for Canadians to
speak out. The House of Commons Standing Committee on Canadian
Heritage launched this review on September 23, 2003. The Committee
is required to report back to Parliament no later than September
30, 2004

The CCFDA was not a participant in the Copyright Board hearings
which took place in early 2003. However, some CCFDA members were
represented by two of the objectors. The attached information
on their respective positions before the Copyright Board is presented
below as a background resource for those interested in the issues.
